Children's Theater Productions

SCP is committed to bringing the experience of live theater to as many citizens of South Jersey as possible. For this reason, we present several shows a year that allow our younger citizens to have this opportunity at an affordable cost in a relaxed and accepting atmosphere. We encourage families to bring even their youngest members. Grandparents often use our shows as a special day with their grandchildren. In this era of electronic, video-taped and filmed entertainment, live theater for children is a rarity and can be a real treat for them. Our children’s shows feature costumes and props designed to catch their eyes and hold their interest. Most run less than an hour, in response to the child’s shorter attention span.

We are careful to choose shows that will not only appeal to children, but to adults as well.

Cast members are always available after the performance to meet the audience. This further reinforces the sense of wonder that only live theater can bring.

Finally, we believe that if children are to learn how to behave at a live performance, they must attend one!

"How Santa Got His Christmas Tree"

By Tim Kelly
Directed by Karl Miller
December 3, 2010 @ 7:00 PM
December 4, 2010 @ 1:00 & 3:00 PM
December 5, 2010 @ 2:00 PM

As Santa’s helpers are building new toys and the mail
piles up, Mrs. Claus sends for a Christmas tree to give
to Santa. He has always wanted one, but trees don’t
grow at the North Pole. Unfortunately, two nasty toy
makers, Sneaky and Stingy, are banished from Santa’s
Village for shoddy workmanship. To get even, they
steal the tree from the mailman and won’t give it back
unless Mrs. Claus gives them all the toys! Happily, they
repent. The toys are saved, and Santa gets his tree.
