The Glass Menagerie

By Tennessee Williams
September 13 – 23, 2018

Living in poverty in a dingy St. Louis apartment with her two children, Amanda Wingfield is a faded, tragic remnant of Southern gentility who strives to give meaning and direction to her life and the lives of her children. Her son, Tom, driven nearly to distraction by his mother’s nagging, seeks escape in alcohol and the world of the movies. Her daughter, Laura, physically crippled and emotionally frail, seeks refuge from her mother’s constant control and criticism in her collection of glass animals. Amanda’s determination to find Laura a husband pushes the family towards the ultimate breaking point.
One of Tennessee Williams’ more iconic “memory plays,” The Glass Menagerie is a true modern classic – drama at its finest, embraced by both charm and beauty.
